Let's get a rolling with the goings on around here! (competition/challenge notes are about halfway down).

first of all, tis the 15 of september, less than 5 days until my birthday (Saturday 20th) which is also the first day of my spring holidays (yes, it is spring down here in Australia).

Second is Manifest is on the second week of the holidays, (27th) I've paid and received confirmation, so I'm definitely going!

anyway, right now I'm frantically working hard to finish as much work as I can before the end of the term, not to mention the fact that my comp needs some repairs (my H key is missing, and it's driving me nuts...) I need to take some photos of my recent art work, it's all traditional media ^_^; (canvas and acrylic paints).

Finally I thought it'd be nice to host a competition of sorts, or rather a small challenge, with some Bragging Rights Rewards.

Of course, if we publicize it enough we may be able to have some prizes.

so, here's the plan:

1. Theme? seeing as the seasons depend on where you live, there's no point going for a spring theme, and to be honest christmas seems a little overdone... So I thought, Why not new years?
Yes, new years day/night shall be the theme.

2. The characters? well, I was thinking of a couple of my own characters, but then, I don't really flesh out their personalities for these events... so it doesn't work too well. so, instead I'll ask you to use your own original characters, (they can be fan based OCs)

3. the catch! (wait, what? there's a catch?)
yes, a sub theme that needs to be incorporated somehow. the sub theme is Forgotten. just be sure too at least comment on how it relates ^_^

**so, to get it all exact and in a nutshell:**
the competition is a piece of work in your chosen format (image, poetry or Prose) concerning either you or one of your own characters on new years day, incorporating the idea of something or someone forgotten.

and as a little extra, I'd like any pyrotechnics (fireworks) not to be part of the main focus. but of course, you don't have to do so.

If you do not have any characters and don't want to do it on yourself, I'll try and Flesh out a couple of characters for you to use.
